Murgon cricketer Courtney Sippel hit 29 valuable runs to help the Governor-General’s XI to victory against Pakistan at Allan Border Field in Brisbane on Friday.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl.
Sippel, who came in late in the batting order, hit three boundaries to bring up her total off just 33 balls to provide some handy runs during the last few overs.
Unfortunately, she was run out while going for more runs in the last over.
The Australians were all out for 235.
In reply, Pakistan were bowled out for 182 in their 45th over.
Sippel also played a vital role during the Pakistan innings, taking the wicket of Nida Dar for a duck, and running out opener Sidra Amin.
The 50-over Governor-General’s XI match has become a traditional fixture in the annual calendar for women’s cricket and provides a great opportunity for Australia’s best young female cricketers.
It was broadcast live by Foxtel.
