A 96-year-old woman has died and four people have been injured – one critically – in a three-vehicle collision just outside Kingaroy on Thursday morning.
Emergency services were called to the incident on the Bunya Highway at Redmans Hill, just south of Crawford, at 8:17am.
A police spokesperson said the 96-year-old woman died at the scene.
QAS paramedics assisted four other patients who were transported to Kingaroy Hospital:
- A man aged in his 60s with chest injuries in a critical condition; he was later airlifted by helicopter to Toowoomba Hospital,
- A woman in her 70s with neck pain in a stable condition; she had to be cut free from her vehicle,
- A woman in her 40s in a stable condition for observation, and
- A man in his 50s with minor injuries in a stable condition.
The Police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.

A woman was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital after a single-vehicle crash near Goomeri on Thursday morning.
Emergency services were called to the incident on the Burnett Highway about 9:40am.
The injured woman had to be cut free from her vehicle.
A QAS spokesperson said the woman suffered suspected neck and hip injuries in the crash.
She was airlifted in a serious but stable condition.
