Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has congratulated three South Burnett Race Clubs which have been successful in securing funding through the Country Racing Program for important upgrades.
The successful clubs were:
- Kumbia Race Club – Upgrade to the judges’ facility
- Nanango Racing Club – Inside running rails
- Burrandowan Picnic Race Club – Inside running rails and upgrades to the male and female jockeys’ and officials room.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the projects come to fruition and providing improved facilities for the many people who rely on Country Racing for their employment,” Mrs Frecklington said.
“It is also a great boost for the volunteers and officials who put so much effort into organizing these iconic country racing events.
“I am a huge supporter of country racing. It is the lifeblood of the racing industry and is a large part of the social fabric of our country towns.
“The last few years have been difficult for our race clubs with COVID restrictions and a lot of wet weather, so this funding will be very important to help them undertake upgrade projects.”
