Cherbourg police have charged a 14-year-old girl after a stolen vehicle was tracked and recovered near Cherbourg on Tuesday morning.
A police spokesperson said about 11:45am officers deployed a tyre deflation device to stop a grey Subaru Outback.
It will be alleged the 2020 Subaru Outback was stolen from a Wynnum address on Friday, and was sighted by patrolling officers along the D’Aguilar Highway about 11:00am.
The vehicle was later found abandoned on Old Wondai Road.
Four people were seen fleeing the car and police located a 14-year-old girl nearby.
The girl has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and will appear in Murgon Children’s Court at a later date.
Detectives are currently trying to locate the other occupants of the vehicle, and are appealing to anyone with dashcam or CCTV vision of the vehicle in the Cherbourg area to come forward.
Investigations are continuing.
