Another 15 people have died from COVID-19 in Queensland, statistics released by Queensland Health on Friday morning show.
The latest deaths, up to midnight on Tuesday, take the State’s toll since the pandemic began to 2317.
All but seven of these deaths have occurred since restrictions eased last December and the Omicron wave hit.
There are currently 245 people being treated for COVID-19 in Queensland hospitals, including five in ICU.
The latest statistics show that 10,106 new cases have been reported to authorities during the latest reporting period, a number which experts have said is vastly under-estimated.
Last Friday, 5828 new cases were reported.
