Values remained firm for the 650 head yarded in Murgon for the fortnightly liveweight sale last Tuesday (November 1).
Cattle for the sale were consigned from Auburn, Mt Perry, Mundubbera, Gayndah, Kingaroy, Nanango, Kilkivan and the Murgon district.
Sale results:
- Heavy Bulls sold to $3.80/kg and $3250, topping at $3347
- Bullocks topped at $4.17/kg for $2630.00
- Cows over 500kg sold to $3.63/kg and $2195, averaging $3.62/kg
- Cows 400-500kg also topped at $3.63/kg for $1760.00
- Cows under 400kg sold to $3.20/kg
- Export heifers sold to $3.83/kg and $1920
- 405kg Charolais cross steers from Kilkivan sold for $5.11/kg and $2070
- 355kg Angus cross steers from Wheatlands sold for $1850 at $5.20/kg
- 393kg Droughtmaster steers from Bullcamp sold for $4.88/kg, returning $1920
- Angus cross weaner steers from Kingaroy sold for $6.70/kg and $1950
- Local Santa weaner steers sold to $1785 at $7.00/kg
- Droughtmaster weaner steers from Cushnie also sold for $7.00/kg and $1485
- Santa heifers from Nanango sold at $4.40/kg for $1680
- Angus weaner heifers from Kingaroy sold for $6.12/kg, returning $1930, $1740 and $1680
- Limousin cross weaner heifers from Hivesville sold for $1450 at $5.92/kg
- Limousin cross weaner heifers ex Proston sold for $1340 at $5.86/kg
- Braford cross weaner heifers from Wondai sold for $5.86/kg, returning $1310
- PTIC Droughtmaster cross cows from Auburn sold to $1950
- Local Droughtmaster Cows & Calves sold for $2400
