Applications are now open for the 2023 Red Earth Community Leadership Program with experienced and aspiring leaders from both the South and North Burnett regions encouraged to apply.
“The two residential sessions develop leadership skills with practical tools to use in everyday situations for work, business and family life, ” RECF chair Georgie Somerset said.
“Over the past nine years we have had participants from all walks of life – industry, government, the community sector, cultural and sporting groups, as well as agriculture and natural resource management.
“Some have been long-term residents of our region, while others are new.
“The program is designed to develop the personal effectiveness of each individual, so your background and experience is only one component, and people don’t need to be in a traditional ‘leadership’ role to benefit.
“Now more so than ever, regional Australia needs to nurture and support our leaders in our local communities.”
The Red Earth Community Leadership Program aims to support the development of leaders who can effect change in their local communities and regions.
Mrs Somerset said Red Earth welcomed businesses sending staff or sponsoring community participants.
“The program will be delivered in the Bunya Mountains in February and March 2023, in two residential sessions, as research shows the benefit of providing a residential environment enables people to focus on the program, the other participants and their own skills development,” she said.
“We also aim to have ongoing programs and opportunities to connect through the year to gain leadership skills and work with previous participants.”
Application forms are available on the Red Earth website
Applications close on November 7.
