Aussie Land and Livestock’s Fat and Store Sale at Coolabunia Saleyards on September 30 had an unusual extra feature this time around.

A special Charolais cross heifer donated by Bill and Leesa Johnston to raise money for Relay For Life went to auction, and was sold to Jamie Marriot for $2728.

And a Blonde Aquitaine steer donated by Pat Williams for the same cause was butchered, then sent to The Little Butcher where the four quarters will be processed into four meat trays.

The four meat tray winners were announced at a raffle drawing during the sale.

All proceeds from both beasts will be added to this year’s Relay For Life fundraising efforts by the South Burnett’s Ride 4 Relay Team.

Overall, the sale yarded 758 cattle which sold for an average $1458 per head.

The Aussie Land & Livestock team also showed their support for Mental Health Awareness Month by wearing R U RITE MATE work shirts for the day.

The shirts encourage people to check on their mates and start a conversation if their mates need support.
