Tickets for the South Burnett Musical Comedy Society’s production of the much-loved musical, “Fiddler On The Roof”, are now on sale.
The performance, which opens on October 8 at the Kingaroy Performing Arts Centre (KPAC), is the result of months of auditions and rehearsals.
Warren Wintour stars as the Jewish dairy farmer, Tevye, whose life is complicated by political turmoil and the fact he has five daughters.
Nanango’s Linda Bebbington is his much put-upon wife, Golde.
The show has a cast and chorus of 46, including students and teachers from Kingaroy State High School.
Cast members are aged from eight to 80.
“Please come out and support everyone’s incredible efforts by buying your tickets now from trybooking.com,” director Andrew Schloss said.
“You will have a great time. You’ll laugh and cry and be reminded of favourite songs.
“Fiddler on the Roof is set over a century ago in Ukraine but today’s events show that history can happen all over again. Ultimately, Fiddler is a story of a community dealing with change and adversity.
“It is a timeless but timely classic.”
Julee-anne Bell is the musical director and Susan Dowideit-Reiger is the choreographer.
The musical features all the popular hits, including “Tradition”, “Sunrise Sunset”, and “If I Were a Rich Man”.
Andrew said the South Burnett Musical Comedy Society was very pleased to be able to bring a show back to the South Burnett after the disruptions caused by COVID-19.
“We would like to thank in particular the community leadership of Kingaroy State High School for welcoming us to use their magnificent facilities for rehearsal and performances,” he said.
