South Burnett Mayor Brett Otto

South Burnett Regional Council has received disaster recovery and resilience funding, and is asking the community to suggest key areas where it could be spent.

It has launched an online survey to assist Council to identify key recovery areas.

A large focus will be on primary producers.

“Your feedback is important to us,” Mayor Brett Otto said.

“We would appreciate all primary producers and other impacted members of the community to take up this opportunity and fill out the survey which can (also) be found on Council’s website or by completing the hardcopy that will be mailed out to primary producers in the coming weeks.”

The funding has been provided through the jointly-funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

This funding aims to help councils that have been severely affected by extraordinary disaster events to undertake relief, recovery and resilience activities in their areas.
