There’s just four spaces left in a special workshop to be held in Blackbutt next Friday (September 9) for aspiring street performers.
Blackbutt Delights (the new name for the Bloomin’ Beautiful Blackbutt committee) is looking for people keen to become “Lolly Pop Ladies” at the Blackbutt Avocado Festival.
The free, one-day performance workshop, from 10:00am to 3:00pm at Blackbutt Memorial Hall, will be led by experienced actor and teacher Clint Bolster.
Participants will learn a 30-minute performance routine before performing with Clint and a troupe of professional performers as “The Lolly Pop Ladies” at the AvoFest Parade on Festival Day (September 10).
“We are thrilled to have Clint Bolster from Homunculus Theatre Co as part of our AvoFest program,” Blackbutt Delights arts officer Olivia Everitt said.
“Clint has been delivering workshops in the Blackbutt community over the last four months and we are excited to offer this last opportunity to the community to learn roving performance and non-verbal mask theatre techniques.
“Whether you’re an experienced actor or you’d just like to ‘avo go’, we encourage you to take up this opportunity to star in a performance troupe! No experience is necessary – just be prepared for plenty of laughs!”
People interested in taking part should contact Olivia on 0432-556-830 or by email
