The seven men arrested after an August 8 drug raid at Boondooma have had their charges mentioned in Murgon Magistrates Court.

Tony Anh Cao, Van Tuan Dang, The Dung Le, Van Tuan Ngo, Hieu Huu Nguyen, Ninh Hoai Nguyen and Minh Van Truong each face two charges:

  • Possessing a Schedule 2 dangerous drug (cannabis) in a quantity of (or exceeding) Schedule 3
  • Producing a Schedule 2 dangerous drug (cannabis) in a quantity of (or exceeding) Schedule 3

The charges were mentioned in Murgon Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Tony Anh Cao and Ninh Hoai Nguyen were remanded in custody to reappear in Murgon Magistrates Court on August 24.

The other five defendants were remanded in custody to reappear in the same court on October 11.

Police will allege the street value of the cannabis seized at the former cattle property at Boondooma is worth $39.9 million.
