Major-General Jake Ellwood visited the South Burnett Regional Council recently to share copies of the State Recovery and Resilience Plan 2022-24.

The plan documents local activities, regional recovery and resilience priorities, and State and Commonwealth government initiatives and funding to provide a pathway to recovery.

A Council spokesperson said Council wanted to  thank Major-General Ellwood for his two visits to the region following the floods earlier this year and inclusion in creating this plan.

“We would also like to take this time to acknowledge our hard-working Council crews who have been tireless in reinstating our road network, parks, and drainage, after not one or two, but five flooding events,” Mayor Brett Otto said.

“This is a tremendous effort, and we’d like the community to take time to say thank you to a Council worker.

“We also thank our community for their patience during this challenging time.

“Together we are ‘better’, and our region should be commended for their resilience over the last 12 months.”
