Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has presented Kumbia Neighbourhood Watch with a $500 cheque to support local crimefighting.

The money has been put towards the purchase of three new high-tech “farm cams” to replace older models.

The mobile surveillance cameras are designed to be mounted near properties which have reported trespassing or illegal shooting.

Kumbia Neighbourhood Watch also wants to install two fixed CCTV systems in the town.

One would oversee Apex Park while the second would monitor traffic passing through Kumbia on the Bunya Highway.

Both systems would then wirelessly relay real-time video back to Kumbia police station.
