Financial recovery assistance up to $75,000 is now available for primary producers in the Gympie and Somerset areas who were affected by the flooding that occurred in south-east Queensland throughout mid-May.
Agriculture Minister Mark Furner said the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries has worked with local councils, industry and affected producers to gather the information that was used to support a request for additional Special Disaster Recovery Grants.
The grants have also been extended to primary producers in the Lockyer Valley, Southern Downs, Western Downs and Balonne council areas.
Natural Disaster Assistance is administered by the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) on behalf of the State and Federal governments.
