Can Glendon Street possibly be ready for Kingaroy BaconFest which kicks off in just a few weeks time?

That’s the question a lot of people have been asking after they negotiate the barriers and signs around the worksite outside the Kingaroy Town Hall Forecourt.

However, the South Burnett Regional Council seems certain that everything will be right for the pig three-day festival which starts on August 19 …

A Council spokesperson told southburnett.com.au on Wednesday that good progress was being made on the Glendon Street portion of the Kingaroy Transformation Project.

“Currently asphalt works are programmed for the week commencing August 8 with the majority of works in the area completed prior to BaconFest,” the spokesperson said.

“The area will be fully open for BaconFest with ancillary works such us colour surfacing, street fixtures and electrical works to take place in September.

“Council has currently decided to delay further surfacing works in the CBD given the current wet and cold conditions.

“Works will recommence in mid to late August.”
