South Burnett Councillor Danita Potter has been appointed Chair of the South Burnett Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG).
Deputy Mayor Gavin Jones has been appointed Deputy Chair.
The shake-up follows the resignation from Council of former LDMG chair Cr Roz Frohloff in March.
On Thursday, Cr Potter, Council CEO Mark Pitt and SBRC Disaster Management Officer Donna Brown met with the newly appointed Inspector for the Gympie Patrol Group Brad Inskip.
Inspector Inskip is the new District Disaster Co-ordinator for the South Burnett LDMG.
The group expressed its gratitude to Acting District Disaster Co-ordinator Senior Sergeant Paul Algie who has accepted the Inspector role for Maryborough Patrol Group.
“Paul provided six years of service to the South Burnett ensuring local needs were met and providing clear direction and guidance with all natural disasters encountered over this time,” a Council spokesperson said.
