Agents yarded 460 head for the Fat & Store Sale at Murgon Saleyards on Tuesday (April 19).

All values eased with fat cows selling to dearer rates.

Cattle were drawn from Gayndah, Mt Perry, Kingaroy, Yarraman, Nanango, Kandanga, Kilkivan and the Murgon district.

Sale results:

  • Heavy bulls sold to $3.48/kg and $2089
  • Cows over 600kg topped at $3.69/kg and $3040
  • Cows 400-500kg sold to $3.38/kg for $1630
  • Cows under 400kg topped at $2.94/kg and $1100
  • Export heifers sold to $3.84/kg and $2320
  • A limited number of bullocks sold to $4.05/kg for 700kg
  • 510kg feeder steers sold to $4.86/kg and $2479
  • Local Droughtmaster light feeders (350kg) sold to $5.50/kg
  • 215kg weaner steers topped at $6.74/kg
  • 433kg feeder heifers topped at $4.70/kg
  • 310kg heifers sold for $5.70/kg and $1767
  • Weaner heifers sold to $5.90/kg
  • 840kg Charolais X cows ex-Nanango made $3.65/kg and $3042
  • 600kg Angus bulls from local areas made $3.48/kg and $2089
  • 701kg Hereford X bullocks made $4.05/kg and $2840
  • 510kg Charbray X feeder steers made $4.86/kg, returning $2480
  • 349kg Charbray X trade light heifers sold to $5.50/kg and $1921
  • 213kg local Droughtmaster X weaner steers made $6.74/kg for $1435
  • 433kg Angus X feeder heifers sold for $4.70/kg at $2033
  • 310kg local crossbreed light feeder heifers made $5.70/kg and $1767
  • 235kg local Angus X weaner heifers made $5.86/kg and $1378
  • Brahman cows and calves from local areas made $3525
