The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the South Burnett and Cherbourg areas have jumped by 20 during the past 24-hour reporting period.

Figures released by Queensland Health on Thursday show another 10 cases in both Council areas, taking the official total since the pandemic began in the two LGAs to 1307.

The death toll in the Darling Downs Health region also rose by one, taking the figure since March 2020 to 28 (including seven deaths this month).

Fifteen more deaths – and 9281 new cases – were announced across Queensland, taking the State’s cumulative total death toll to 823 and the number of confirmed cases to 937,536.

There are currently 44,085 confirmed active COVID-19 cases in the State.

There are 578 people being treated for COVID in Queensland hospitals, including 17 in ICU.

Across Australia, 50,935 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of active cases to an estimated 371,087.

There are 3329 people in hospital, including 161 in ICU and 49 on ventilators.

There have now been 6842 people across Australia who have died with COVID-19.
