The 113th annual Nanango Show kicked off on Friday morning with a big day of events planned ahead of a massive night of entertainment.

Friday’s events include show jumping, harness events and the Young Judges and Handlers competitions.

Sideshow alley will also be open and food will be available all day in the grounds.

At 4:00pm, the excitement lifts a few notches with barrel racing in the main arena.

The licensed bar will open at 5:00pm, just in time for the NRA-affiliated rodeo which will start jumping at 7:00pm.

The rodeo will feature an open bull ride along with novice, junior and mini classes.

Saturday’s action will get under way at 8:30am with more horse events in the ring plus stud beef and prime cattle judging.

The pavilions will open at 9:00am.

Other attractions include sideshow alley, food stalls, Viv’s Animal Farm, dinosaurs, a goat party and racing pigs for the young and young at heart!

Trotting heats will take over the main ring from 11:00am.

The show will be officially opened at 12:30pm, followed by the Grand Parade at 1:30pm and the finals of the trotting.

At 5:00pm, there’ll be chainsaw and block splitting in the main ring.

The Berrymen band will strike up at 6:30pm before the Heritage Fireworks Show lights up the skies at 7:30pm.

After this, the band will play on until late.

Two-day tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for concessions or $40 for a family of four.

Admission for Saturday only is $15 for adults or $10 for concessions.

Trotting will be returning to the ring at Nanango Show on Saturday … but the big action on Friday will be the barrel racing and bullrides
