April 6, 2022
The South Burnett’s 2022 Relay For Life fundraising campaign for Cancer Council Queensland will kick off next month with the now-traditional Mayor’s Community Charity Breakfast.
The breakfast will be held at Blackbutt Memorial Hall from 6:30am on Friday, May 6.
The special guest speaker will be former sapper Sean Mulqueen who set up the veterans’ charity “42 for 42” and the fundraising “42 Hour Challenge” walking event.
Sean Mulqueen was 25 when he enlisted in the Australian Defence Force and served as a combat engineer (sapper) in Afghanistan.
The charity’s name acknowledges the 41 Aussie soldiers who died in the Afghanistan conflict. The 42nd is for all the soldiers who have died since through suicide.
Tickets for the breakfast are $30 per person, which includes a hot breakfast, tea or coffee and juice.
They can be bought at the South Burnett Regional Council’s customer service centre in Kingaroy or by contacting Linda O’May on (07) 4189-9100 or by email before April 29.
