The Queensland Ambulance Service is inviting First Nations residents to apply for Indigenous Paramedic Program positions available at Murgon Ambulance Station.
“It you’re looking for full-time employment and aspire to reach your full potential in the challenging but respected world of ambulance, then this is a career opportunity for you,” a QAS spokesperson said.
Indigenous Paramedic cadets are supported by the QAS through practical hands-on experience that is supported with an education opportunity to become a qualified healthcare clinician.
The cadets will respond to real emergencies – under the guidance of mentors – while studying for their official qualifications.
“Applicants don’t require any previous experience in healthcare but will need to possess a willingness to learn and a passion for helping those in need,” the spokesperson said.
“The program is self-paced and tailored to each person’s individual needs.”
An information session will be held at Murgon Ambulance Station from 6:30pm on Monday, April 11.
