Motorists will face more disruptions in the Kingaroy CBD over the next few weeks when the Haly / Kingaroy street intersection closes as part of the Kingaroy Transformation Project upgrade.
The closure – from next Monday (March 21) – will extend across the front of O’Neill Square to King Street, and midway down Kingaroy Street.
All heavy vehicles will be directed to use a detour via King Street.
A South Burnett Regional Council spokesperson said the intersection was expected to be closed for three weeks, subject to weather and other external constraints.
Access to the car park behind the NAB and Commonwealth banks will be available via the Alford Street entrance/exit.
This project is advancing without anyone being the face of the project. Who is the face out there reassuring the business community that disruptions won’t last forever and the finished product of the new CBD will have a positive economic drive? The achievement of the finished product will be brilliant. Just look at the areas that are nearing completion. Amazing!
I know it has cost a lot of dollars. I know that some people will be upset about that. I know that a number of generations have lived off the support of those before us who set up the original CBD all those years ago. I am a strong supporter of this new initiative. This is positive investment. It sets Kingaroy up for the next generations. Love that type of forward thinking.
