A truck driver will appear in court charged with drug offences after his rig was pulled over by police in Kingaroy last week.

Police intercepted the Freightliner heavy vehicle in Kingaroy Street about 8:15am on March 18.

The driver, a 31-year-old man from Sadliers Crossing in Ipswich, allegedly returned a positive result to a roadside drug test.

Police also allegedly located drug utensils in his possession.

The man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 14.

Traffic

  • A 39-year-old Wondai man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 26 charged with drug-driving after police pulled over a Ford sedan about 11:50am on Saturday on Rogers Drive, Kingaroy.
  • A 26-year-old Kingaroy woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 14 charged with drug-driving after police stopped a  Hyundai hatch on Youngman Street, Kingaroy, about 1:05pm on Saturday.
  • Also on Saturday,  police intercepted a 74-year-old Nanango man driving a Ford ute on Taylors Road near Kingaroy about 11:10am. He will appear in Nanango Magistrates Court in April charged with driving while disqualified. The vehicle was also immobilised for 90 days.
  • On Friday, police attended a two-vehicle crash at 8:55am at the intersection of Carinya and Jarrah streets, Kingaroy.  Neither driver was injured but one was issued with an infringement notice for failing to give way ($413 fine and three points).

Property

  • Police are investigating the break-and-enter of a Booie Road property at some time between March 6-12. The thieves entered a house and sheds by forcing doors, stealing power tools and personal property. Investigations are continuing.

Drugs

  • A 19-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 14 charged with drug possession after police allegedly located a small amount of cannabis in his possession at midnight on Sunday in Youngman Street, Kingaroy.
  • A 44-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Nanango Magistrates Court June 6 charged with possessing drugs and drug utensils after police stopped a Holden sedan in Walter Road, Kingaroy, qt 12:30pm on Sunday. A search allegedly located a small amount of cannabis and drug utensils.
  • A 52-year-old Kingaroy woman has been charged with possessing drugs and drug utensils after police searched a home in First Avenue, Kingaroy, at 1:30pm on Sunday. They allegedly located a small amount of cannabis and drug utensils.
