An elderly man charged with arson and attempted arson after an incident in Murgon earlier this month was refused bail when he appeared in Murgon Court last Wednesday.
Jurgen Schmidt, 75, was remanded in custody to reappear on May 24.
Police will allege Schmidt set fires inside a structure in the early hours of February 25.
Schmidt applied for bail which was refused by Magistrate Andrew Sinclair.

Charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle laid after a fatal crash at Cushnie last year have been adjourned again.
Police will allege that Amber Mabb, who was 22 at the time, failed to gave way to an oncoming vehicle on Chinchilla-Wondai Road on January 15, 2021.
A woman, who was the front passenger in the vehicle being driven by Ms Mabb, was killed in the crash while a second passenger, a 22-year-old Surfers Paradise man, was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious injuries.
The case was mentioned in Murgon Magistrates Court last Tuesday and adjourned to March 22.
UPDATE March 22: The charges against Ms Mabb have been adjourned to May 4.
