The Bureau of Meteorology issued a minor flood warning for the Stuart and Boyne rivers on Friday afternoon.

At 4:29pm, BOM said rainfall totals of 60-460mm had been recorded over the lower Burnett catchment area since 6:00pm on Thursday.

Additional areas of heavy rainfall are forecast during Friday and into Saturday, which may lead to renewed river level rises across the Burnett River catchment.

A severe weather warning for heavy rainfall and damaging winds remains current for parts of Wide Bay and Burnett forecast districts.

Stuart and Boyne Rivers

Minor flooding may occur along the Stuart and Boyne Rivers.

No observations are currently available for the Boyne River at Dunollie. However, river levels are expected to be below the minor flood level. The Boyne River at Dunollie may reach the minor flood level (2.50m) overnight Friday into Saturday with further heavy rainfall.

Barker and Barambah Creeks

River rises are expected along the Barker and Barambah Creeks during Friday. Minor flooding is occurring along the Boonara Creek at Ettiewyn.
