Murgon’s fortnightly combined agents Fat and Store Sale on Tuesday, February 22, saw 1100 head yarded for buyers.

A big offering of feeder steers drew bids ranging between $5.66 and $8.60 per kilogram.

All other levels remained very firm from the last sale.

Sale results:

  • Heavy bulls topped at $3.94/kg and $3449
  • Heavy cows over 500kg sold to $4.06/kg, returning $3023
  • Cows under 400kg topped at $3.74/kg
  • Export heifers made $4.59/kg at $2540
  • Feeder steers over 500kg sold at $5.56/kg, returning $3053
  • Feeder steers 400-500kg also made $5.66/kg
  • Feeder steers at 330kg made $7.10/kg and $2343
  • 305kg steers sold at $7.50/kg and $2288
  • 211kg steers sold to $8.60/kg at $1819
  • Feeder heifers over 400kg made $5.66/kg, returning $2496
  • Light feeder heifers weighing 320kg made $6.54/kg and $2093
  • 202kg heifers sold for $7.46/kg
  • Lightweight heifers made $7.70/kg and $1059
  • A few PTIC cows yarded and sold for $2025
  • A limited number of cows and calves sold to $3850
  • An 875kg Red Brangus bull ex-Murgon made $3.94/kg and $3449
  • Crossbred cows ex-Murgon sold for $4.06/kg at $2716
  • 556kg Santa Gertrudis cows ex-Nanango made $3.99/kg and $2195
  • 640kg Angus X bullocks ex-Murgon made $4.52/kg and $2894
  • 545kg Angus X feeder steers ex-Murgon sold at $5.56/kg and $3031
  • 350kg Charbray X light feeder steers ex-Murgon made $7.10/kg and $2343
  • 212kg Charbray X weaners ex-Murgon made $8.60/kg at $1820
  • 435kg Simmental X heifers ex-Murgon sold for $5.66/kg and $2463
  • 340kg Charbray X heifers ex-Kilkivan made $6.46/kg and $2197
  • 202kg Droughtmaster X heifers ex-Murgon made $7.46/kg and $1507
  • 199kg Droughtmaster X heifers ex-Murgon sold at $7.68/kg and $1530
  • Charbray X PTIC cows ex-Murgon made $2025
  • Brahman cows and calves ex-Goomeri made $3850

Aussie Land & Livestock’s next Special Store Sale is on Friday, February 25.

A bumper yarding of 1300 head is expected.
