Eleven local community groups have been big winners under the latest round of Gambling Community Benefit Fund grants.
Round 112 grants were announced by the State Government last week, with more than $315,000 coming to the South Burnett.
Four local groups – the Kingaroy State School P&C, Kumbia Hack and Pony Club, Nanango Theatre Company and Kilkivan Performance Horse Association – will receive the maximum amount available under this round, ie. $35,000.
Burrandowan Picnic Race Club and the Hivesville QCWA branch will also receive grants of more then $30,000.
The full list of local associations:
- Burrandowan Picnic Race Club – $32,035 – construct a coldroom
- CROW-FM (Community Radio of Wondai Association Inc) – $19,883.16 – install software and buy equipment
- Durong South State School P&C – $28,000 – upgrade tennis court
- Kilkivan Bowls Club – $25,655 – extend patio roof and paint amenities
- Kilkivan Performance Horse Association – $35,000 – purchase coldroom, trailer and equipment
- Kilkivan Veterans’ and Community Men’s Shed Association – $18,850 – buy laser cutting machine
- Kingaroy State School P&C – $35,000 – construct nature play area and upgrade shade sails
- Kumbia Hack and Pony Club – $35,000 – install awning, purchase trailer and conduct training
- Nanango Theatre Company – $35,000 – replace roof and install air-conditioning
- QCWA Hivesville – $31,890.46 – upgrade facility
- South Burnett Junior Motorcycle Club – $19,600 – buy all-terrain vehicle
