Six live bands will be taking to the stage in Kingaroy in April at the rescheduled “Burnett Bands Together” event.
“Burnett Bands Together” was originally due to take place on January 15, but was postponed because of the pandemic.
The new date for the community event is Saturday, April 9.
The entertainment will get under way at 5:00pm in the Kingaroy Town Hall Forecourt and run late into the night.
“Our local Rotary and Lions community organisations will be on hand to run a cash bar and a barbecue,” organisers Rob Fitz-Herbert and Tony Cisneros said.
“This is a free event for all ages that is being funded though the Regional Arts Services Network and Central Qld University.
“The funds have been provided to financially support performing artists who have been so hard hit due to COVID challenges and loss of work.
“We will be bringing communities back together as we all recover from COVID, by celebrating with a live music outdoor community event, presenting bands from across the region.”
The musicians who will be performing are: the Barambah Big Band, Soul Good, Rufus Jack, Ryza, Mudgard3n and Mr Q.
Musicians Oasis will be providing audio and sound engineering and the evening will be compered by Damien Martoo.
“We are super stoked to be organising this event with all regional providers, and this community has an amazing array of talented music industry professionals. We thank you all for your commitment to support this event,” Rob and Tony said.
“Mark your diaries now, make sure you bring your camp chairs and your dancing shoes. This will be an event not to be missed, as we celebrate our local music industry.
“We thank the South Burnett Regional Council for the utilisation of the Town Hall and forecourt, for this event.
“Together, the South Burnett can achieve great things.”
