Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington’s ‘Local Hero’ grants program aims to help community groups and individuals within the Nanango electorate

December 20, 2021

Four local community groups are the recipients of the latest round of local MP Deb Frecklington’s Local Hero grants.

Mrs Frecklington congratulated the four groups which received an early Christmas present through Round 15 of her scheme:

  • Wooroolin Community Committee
  • Nanango Indoor Bowls Club
  • Murgon Show Society
  • Wooroolin Scout Group

“It has been wonderful to visit and meet with our schools, community groups and local businesses throughout the year,” Mrs Frecklington said.

“We have a remarkable region which continues to grow and evolve throughout challenging times.

“As 2021 draws to a close, I would like to send you my warmest Christmas wishes and thank you for your support throughout the year.

“Our LNP Opposition team has been working hard to hold this third-term Labor Government to account. There is no doubt this is a government that only cares about how things look, not how things actually are.

“We have worked to expose their failings in our health care system, border restrictions, the Queensland Building and Construction Commission, crime, child protection and much more.

“In my Shadow Minister role, I have been calling out Labor’s neglect of regional areas, in particular their ability to plan for the delivery of water infrastructure for Queenslanders. I have met with people across Queensland who share my passion about water security, regional development and local manufacturing.

“Locally, I have been pleased to support the Nanango Electorate through the continuing COVID-19 restrictions. My office has been inundated with calls for help from people caught interstate, business owners affected by ever-changing rules and community groups seeking advice on events.

“We can only hope that 2022 brings more certainty as the world continues to grapple with COVID-19.”
