Eleven local groups have received a total of more than $306,000 from the latest round of Gambling Community Benefit Fund grants.
Included among the successful applicants was Tanduringie State School who received $35,000 to install a new playground.
Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington announced the successful grant at the annual Tanduringie State School Picnic Day and congratulated them on their successful application.
“It is a fantastic result for the Tanduringie State School P&C,” Mrs Frecklington said.
“There are 11 groups across the South Burnett and Gympie regions who have been successful with their grant applications to undertake community projects, infrastructure upgrades and purchase equipment.
“I would like to congratulate these hard working clubs and the volunteers who put their time into securing these worthwhile projects that will greatly benefit our community.”
The successful local groups in Round 111 of the GCBF:
- Farmers Hall, Inverlaw – Upgrade hall and buy equipment – $15,162
- Kilkivan Kindergarten – Upgrade facility and buy equipment – $34,939.50
- Kingaroy Junior Motorcycle Speedway Club – Buy water truck – $17,500
- Kingaroy Men’s Shed – Lay Concrete Foundations – $35,000
- Moffatdale State School P&C – Upgrade facility – $35,000
- Proston Bowls Club – Replace ditch boards – $35,000
- Proston District Golf Club – Buy mower – $23,000
- South Burnett Educational Wildlife Support Group – Buy quad bikes, slasher and dart gun – $30,975
- South Burnett Pony Clubs – Buy defibrillator, first aid equipment and training – $9774
- Tanduringie State School – install playground and softfall – $35,000
- Wondai Proston Wolves Rugby League Club – Upgrade facility and buy equipment – $35,000
“I encourage all local groups, however big or small, to consider applying for a Gambling Community Benefit Fund Grant to help achieve their goals,” Mrs Frecklington said.
