Queensland Health has issued a public health alert for contact tracing locations on the Gold Coast after it was confirmed a person visited a major shopping centre while likely positive with COVID-19.
It has not been determined yet which variant of the virus the person has.
A Queensland Health spokesperson said an investigation was under way to determine the source of the infection.
“The case has visited the Robina Town Centre during the Black Friday shopping sales, so we would urge anyone who has visited the location or has symptoms, no matter how mild, to come forward and get tested,” the spokesperson said.
“This is a timely reminder for all Queenslanders to regularly monitor the list of exposure venues on the Queensland Health website and follow the public health advice, as there may be more locations.”
UPDATE: The Old Fernvale Bakery, at 1492-1496 Brisbane Valley Highway, Fernvale, has been added to the contact tracing list as a “casual contact” location for Saturday, November 27, between 3:30pm-4:05pm.
