The Darling Downs and West Moreton Primary Health Network has announced the appointment of a new CEO.
Lucille Chalmers was selected by the Board after an executive recruitment process and will start in January.
She is currently the Deputy CEO at Brisbane South PHN.
PHN Board chair Dr Tony Bayliss said the Board was delighted to appoint Ms Chalmers as CEO with her extensive experience in primary healthcare.
“We were incredibly impressed with the high calibre of candidates that applied for the role,” Dr Bayliss said.
“Lucille stood out due to her in depth knowledge of the primary health sector, understanding of the commissioning landscape and her ability to build sustainable relationships and local partnerships.”
Prior to working with Brisbane South PHN, Ms Chalmers held senior roles with large not-for-profit and government agencies.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to lead the Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN to continue improving health outcomes for people living in the region and I look forward to building on the great work done by the outgoing CEO,” Ms Chalmers said.
She will take over the reins from current CEO Merrilyn Strohfeldt who retires in December 2021 after four years with the organisation.
