Volunteers from the South Burnett were among the North Coast’s top SES members recognised at an awards ceremony in Gympie last Saturday.

The ceremony coincided with the official launch of SES Week, which recognises the efforts of SES staff and volunteers across Queensland.

Former South Burnett Local Controller Arthur Dawson was presented with the Assistant Commissioner’s Certificate.

Several volunteers also received recognition for assisting in the clean-up after Tropical Cyclone Debbie in 2017.

South Burnett SES members to receive awards:

  • Amanda Johnson, Nanango Group – National Emergency Medal TC Debbie Clasp 2017
  • Stanley Cusworth, Kingaroy Group – SES Week Award for his ongoing support to the Kingaroy group
  • Arthur Dawson, Nanango Group – Assistant Commissioner’s Certificate in recognition of 21 years’ service to the South Burnett community as the SES Local Controller
  • Craig Martin, Group Leader Wondai Group – National Emergency Medal TC Debbie Clasp 2017 & SES meritorious Service Medal for 10 years’ service
  • Lachlan Bagley, Nanango Group – National Emergency Medal TC Debbie Clasp 2017
  • Robyn Baker, Local Controller South Burnett SES Unit – National Emergency Medal TC Debbie Clasp 2017

  • Proston – SPAR Supermarket, from 10:00am to noon
  • Kingaroy – Shoppingworld, near Best and Less, from 9:00am to 4:00pm
