It’s that time of the year when local councils are calling for nominations for Australia Day awards:
In the South Burnett Regional Council area, nominations are being called for:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Junior Cultural Award
- Senior Cultural Award
- Junior Sportsperson
- Senior Sportsperson
- Sports Administrator/Coach/Official Award
- Community Organisation of the Year
- Volunteer of the Year
- Lifetime Achievement Award
- Local Achiever Awards (Town & Rural)
Nominations close at 4:30pm on Friday, November 12.

- Citizen of the Year (for a person older than 26)
- Citizen of the Year – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
- Young Citizen of the Year (for a nominee under 26),
- Cultural Award
- Sports Award (senior and junior)
- Community Group / Event of the Year
