Kumbia Neighbourhood Watch celebrated its birthday with a special dinner at Kumbia Hall last Saturday … exactly 30 years to the day since it began.

The dinner was attended by about 50 guests, including current members and families, past and present Kumbia and Kingaroy police officers, and other district Neighbourhood Watch members.

Special guests were Maria Bennett, CEO if Neighbourhood Watch Australasia (NHWA) and outgoing QPS District Crime Prevention Co-ordinator Senior Constable Dan O’Hara.

Both were invited to speak to the assembled guests.

Unfortunately several of the invitees were unable to attend due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Kumbia Neighbourhood Watch is active in the community, running activities including “Turning The Screws On Crime” number plate days, taking part in Bunnings’ “Crime Prevention Week” and the Community Under 8s Fun Day.
