Darling Downs Health is reminding local residents that a free Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be running in Murgon this week.
The clinic will be set up at the Murgon PCYC on:
- Wednesday – 11:00am to 3:20pm
- Thursday – 9:00am to 3:20pm
- Friday – 9:00am to 12:50pm
Darling Downs Health said vaccinations would be provided in line with current Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) recommendations and guidelines.
Everyone aged 16 years and above has been encouraged to attend the vaccination clinic. However, residents over 60 years are reminded that Astra Zeneca is the preferred vaccination for that age group.
Registrations can done online (when registering online, select “any other eligible criteria” to complete the form).
“Pre-registration helps us to get through the line quicker on vaccination days,” Darling Downs Health spokesperson Annette Scott said.
“If, however, you have problems with this online form, there will be staff available on the day to help you with the process.
“The vaccination is safe and is free. It is the best way to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community.”
People attending the clinic should bring ID, their Medicare cards and a pen.
NB. Darling Downs Health says anyone who has received one dose of the Astra Zeneca vaccine, which has been provided recently through GPs and Aboriginal Medical Services, should receive a second dose of Astra Zeneca and NOT the Pfizer vaccine.
