Kingaroy residents will see fire trucks out and about on Saturday morning around Kingaroy Airport and lots of smoke

August 13, 2021

Kingaroy residents shouldn’t be worried if they see a lot of smoke coming from the direction of the Kingaroy Airport on Saturday morning (August 14).

A large hazard reduction burn will be lit between 9:30am and 10:00am.

About 18 fire trucks – both urban and rural – will be in attendance.

Kingaroy Fire Station Officer Bruce Groer said the hazard reduction burn would also be used as a pre-fire season training exercise.

A South Burnett Regional Council spokesperson said smoke may affect Taabinga Village and the southern side of Kingaroy during this time.
