South Burnett Regional Council’s community consultations on the planned “shared areas” of the Kingaroy Transformation Project (KTP) began this week.
A Council spokesperson said the consultations were an opportunity for residents to see the draft design concepts and talk to the KTP team.
Cr Danita Potter said the attendance had been amazing, leading to productive discussions.
“Day one brought over 40 conversations with different locals, all providing valuable, constructive feedback and genuine support for the KTP,” Cr Potter said.
“I look forward to hearing what each person has to say about the inclusive infrastructure, the cultural elements, the safety considerations and the overall sustainability of these designs for the much-needed rejuvenation of the Kingaroy CBD.”
Cr Kirstie Schumacher said it was an exciting time for the South Burnett.
“It is great to listen and be part of so many positive conversations about the future of our region,” she said.
“I really hope residents take up the opportunity to look at the designs and provide their ideas. These developments are for the benefit of the whole community, so we really need our locals to understand that they have a voice, and we encourage them to share it with us,” she said.
