Kilkivan State School has been named as a State Finalist in the 2021 Showcase Awards.
Education Minister Grace Grace said 94 nominations had been received from 125 State schools.
Finalists in the different categories have been chosen for their innovative and effective ways of improving student outcomes.
“The Showcase Awards are all about shining a spotlight on our dedicated teachers, principals, leadership teams and school communities who are setting our students up for success,” she said.
“I wish all our finalists the very best.
“The State award winners will be announced in an online presentation on October 29 which is also World Teachers’ Day.”
The finalists have been chosen in 10 categories.
Kilkivan State School is one of two finalists in the “Showcase Award For Excellence In Rural And Remote Education” for their project, “Making Connections – Learning And Leading”.
The school is also a member of a cluster of schools, the North Coast Curriculum Leaders, competing for the “Network 10 Showcase Award For Excellence In The Early and Primary Years” for their project, “Towards Zero”.
Kilkivan State School was a regional winner in the 2020 awards for their program, “Working Together, Learning Together”.
