The theft of a Nissan X-Trail in Kingaroy on Monday has been linked by police to several other car thefts in the region as well as break-ins in Kingaroy, Wondai and Goomeri.
The X-Trail was stolen from Haly Street on Monday afternoon while its owner was unloading her groceries.
It was later spotted at Cherbourg, where it allegedly drove at a police vehicle forcing the officers to take evasive action.
Police now believe some of the occupants got out of the vehicle in Goomeri, where a black Suzuki Jimny was stolen and later found dumped in Kingaroy.
This group are then believed to have taken a Mazda from a residence in Carinya Street, Kingaroy.
The owner of this vehicle was not aware her car had been stolen until police notified her on Tuesday morning it had been seen in Cherbourg.
Detectives are also investigating break-ins, believed to be related to the car thefts, at the Kingaroy Golf Club, Warana Hotel-Motel in Wondai and a residence in Goomeri.
