A special dinner was held in Murgon last week to present Domestic and Family Violence Awards.
The dinner recognised working groups and individuals who have had an integral role in the prevention of domestic and family violence across the local community.
A number of local services attended to mark the occasion.
Also present were Vanessa Fowler, from the Allison Baden-Clay Foundation; and former NRL players Alan Tongue and Gavin Cooper who shared key messages.
The winner of the major award, the Exemplary Practice Award, was shared by CTC domestic violence counsellor Julie Blundell and the manager of the Cherbourg Police’s High Risk Team (HRT), Louise Thompson.
Louise was instrumental in establishing the Cherbourg HRT group.
