The second South Burnett Gem Show was a huge hit again at Kingaroy Showgrounds at the weekend.

The South Burnett Gem & Fossicking Club held its first show in 2019, but like so much else, its planned 2020 outing was cancelled due to the pandemic.

This meant its 2021 event – on Saturday and Sunday – was bigger and brighter than ever!

Traders came from across Queensland to display and sell their wares, including gemstones, jewellery, crystals and minerals.

Club secretary Karen Mead said there were 22 stalls selling outside as well as seven set up inside the Kucks Pavilion.

Visitors had to don masks while inside the pavilion to obey COVID-19 restrictions, but no one seemed to be complaining.

The club also organised activities for the youngsters including fossicking and sieving, and displays of polishing and cutting.
