Renovations at the South Burnett Aquatic Centre at Nanango will mean the pool will be closed for about six weeks from February 28.
A South Burnett Regional Council spokesperson said contractors had been hired to begin the renovations, which will include upgrades to the floors as well as general maintenance.
The work is being funded through the State Government’s Works For Queensland program and the SBRC’s capital works budget.
More changes are also in the pipeline for the Aquatic Centre.
At Wednesday’s Infrastructure Standing Committee meeting, councillors discussed a plan to add disabled parking bays outside the building.
The meeting recommended that Council vote at its next General Meeting to approve this upgrade.
