A rescue helicopter was called in on Sunday to locate a trailbike rider suffering from dehydration who was lost north of Toowoomba.
The man, aged in his 40s, called for help as temperatures soared in the area.
He explained that he had been riding by himself when he became lost and only had limited water.
After a ground search failed to locate him, the police requested the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter to start searching for the man.
Soon after arriving at the man’s last known co-ordinates, the rescue chopper crew located the man at a remote hut on top of a hill.
The crew landed near the hut and the aeromedical team then walked a short distance to assess the man.
A LifeFlight spokesperson said the man was suffering severe dehydration and was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
