Fire crews were called to a large bushfire burning in the Wooroolin Wetlands on Monday afternoon.
A QFES spokesperson said the fire, which broke out about 1:05pm, was burning near Sports Ground Road.
No properties were under threat.
At 2:20pm, there were 13 fire units at the scene, including rural and urban units.
The QFES spokesperson said firefighters were working to control the blaze.
Smoke was affecting traffic on the Bunya Highway and on Sports Ground, East Wooroolin and Transmitter roads.
Earthmoving equipment was brought in to help contain the large fire.
At 8:40pm, one fire crew was still at the incident.
Firefighters will continue to monitor the area over the next few days.

Firefighters were also called to a grass fire at McCauley Broome Road, near Barkers Creek Flat, on Monday afternoon.
The fire, reported at 1:00pm, was quickly extinguished.
