Toowoomba driver Ben Langton rolled after the chequered flag in Heat 4 of the Street Stocks

October 23, 2020

A spectacular rollover in a heat of the Street Stocks was just a taste of the action when speedway returned to Kingaroy last Saturday.

Toowoomba driver Ben Langton looked stunned as he was helped from the wreck of his Holden Commodore after it rolled and crashed into a tyre barrier after the chequered flag in Heat 4 of Round 1 of the Edge Automotive Street Stock series.

After being examined by paramedics, Langton made his way back to the pits but neither he or his Commodore returned to the track.

The return of speedway to Kingaroy after the COVID-19 disruptions earlier the year was welcomed by fans with a strong turnout.

There were some changes, of course … QR Code sign-ins at the entrances and no social visits to the pits at the break, but the canteen was in action and spectators appreciated the close racing.

The next meeting at Kingaroy Speedway will be held on November 7 and the feature event will be the Queensland title of the AMCA Nationals.

Also in action will be the Modifieds, Production Sedans, Round 2 of the Edge Automotive Street Stock series and Junior Sedans.
