A woman critically injured in last week’s head-on crash on the Wide Bay Highway has died in hospital.

A police spokesperson said the woman, aged 59, was a passenger in an Isuzu ute.

The ute and a Commodore sedan collided about 10:30am at Lower Wonga, south of Woolooga.

The woman was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane hospital with critical injuries where she died on Sunday.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
