Fire crews were called to a large grass fire burning near Steinhardts Road at Moffatdale on Friday afternoon.
The fire broke out about 3:30pm.
At 4:45pm, there were eight units at the incident.
QFES issued a bushfire warning (information) to local residents at 4:40pm:
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews are attending a grass fire burning at Moffatdale, south-east of Murgon.
This fire is currently posing no threat to property.
Nearby residents may be affected by smoke.
People are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by.
As smoke may reduce visibility, motorists travelling in the area should drive with caution and to conditions.
If residents are concerned their property is under threat, they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
UPDATE 5:30pm: Fires at Steinhardts Road and Haager Drive in Moffatdale are now contained.
