It’s now official … the Wondai Christmas Carnival won’t be going ahead in Coronation Park on Christmas Eve, and a suggested alternative location of Wondai Showgrounds has been ruled out, too.
Wondai Show Society president Dennis Morris said the committee had met on Thursday night to discuss the fate of this year’s carnival but had decided regretfully that it could not go ahead this year because of COVID-19 restrictions.
“It was just totally impossible,” Dennis told southburnett.com.au
“People would have had to record their names, addresses and telephone numbers and the rides would have to be wiped down after every child.
“We had to make the decision now because of the traffic management plans.
“We are now looking forward to resuming again next year.”
Wondai Show Society was also forced to cancel its annual show last month because of the pandemic.
